WRITERS WORKSHOP
Join us in Torrey, Utah, October 20-23, for a three-day writing workshop near Capitol Reef National Park to inspire your creativity and hone your writing. Work with the dedicated faculty below in a friendly environment to learn new skills in small classes.

This year’s faculty features Walter Kirn, author of eight books, including Up in the Air, which was made into a film of the same name starring George Clooney; storyteller, musician, and two-time Grammy Award recipient Bill Harley; and Kirsten Johanna Allen, publisher of Torrey House Press.

Other faculty includes playwright and retired U of U English Professor David Kranes; author Betsy Burton, the former owner of the King’s English Bookshop; poet and educator Nan Seymour; attorney Michael S. Anderson, and retired Salt Lake Tribune editor Dawn House.

“AN EVENING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY WITH SONGS AND STORYTELLING”

A special event is about to happen in Torrey, Utah. Two-time Grammy winner Bill Harley will be performing on stage at Entrada Institute.
His narrative songs and stories, both original and traditional, will be inspiring as well as entertaining.

Bill is best known for his work with children and families and his ability to navigate through a confusing world with humor and wisdom. As a masterful storyteller, Bill is vibrant, outrageous, unpredictable, and genuine with songs and stories about growing up, schooling, and what it is to be human—our connections with one another and with the planet we share. Recognized by audiences and peers as one of the finest performing storytellers in the country, his work has influenced a generation of children, parents, performing artists and educators.

If you would like to meet Walter N. Kirn, an American novelist, literary critic, and essayist—and great storyteller—you’ll have an

Walter is the author of eight books, most notably Up in the Air, which was made into a film of the same name starring George Clooney.
His most recent book is Blood Will Out, a memoir of his friendship with the con artist and murderer Clark Rockefeller. His other books include Thumbsucker (also made into a feature film), Mission to America, My Mother’s Bible (e-book), The Unbinding, She Needed Me, and My Hard Bargain. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, The New Republic, GQ, New York, and Esquire, among other publications.
